Ruiz returns a year and a half after his defeat against Anthony Joshua, who dominated the Mexican American for 12 rounds in December 2019 to regain the heavyweight belts of the WBO, WBA Y FIB.
In June 2019, Andy surprised the world by knocking out AJ in the seventh round. But during the time he was champion, he did not dedicate himself to training and went to the rematch at the top by more than 40 pounds.
By 2020, the contest had been negotiated between Andy ruiz Y Chris Arreola. However, because the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, it did not take place.
Now, Andy he has been training for a few months with Eddy reynoso in Guadalajara Jalisco, and has shown some pictures of the physical progress he has had.
Eddy recently assured that in case there is a trilogy before Anthony Joshua, Andy He would knock out the Briton again for the improvement he has had in the gym. For Andy ruiz, that of April 24 would be the first fight, already with Eddy reynoso in your corner.
For its part, Arreola comes from losing in his last contest in August 2019 against Adam kownacki by unanimous decision.
In July 2016 he faced Deontay Wilder for the WBC heavyweight belt, but Wilder took the victory in the eighth round.
