Stefanos Tsitsipas, who will be one of the protagonists of the Rotterdam ATP 500, revealed what was the promise he made to his brother Petros in early 2021.
The Greek revealed that this year he promised his brother to play more doubles tournaments with him. “I wanted to start the new year in the freshest and most dynamic way. I want to play as many doubles as possible with my brother, Petros. It has been a dream of mine, but I haven’t achieved much.” expressed number six in the ranking.
The Tsitsipas duo has only registered three matches at the ATP level. The first occurred at the ATP 250 in Marseille in which they lost to Sander Arends and Tristan-Samuel Welssborn. In 2020, they played the same contest with the same result in the first round against Andreas Mies and Kevin Krawietz and the last duel was a fall at the Australian Open against Tommy Paul and Mackenzie McDonald.
“I want to take the opportunity to play with him in ATP 250 and 500 tournaments, or in a Grand Slam, like we did. It was the best memory of my time in Australia. I am mainly focusing on my career as a singles player, but I also want to help my brother and his performances. I would only do it for my brother and no one else. I want to form a team with him, exclusively with him. I don’t plan on playing with anyone else. “ Stefanos Tsitsipas concluded.
