Matías Almeyda received sad news when he learned that his father died of Covid-19 and the Chivas team sent their condolences to his former technician
Matías Almeyda’s father, Óscar Almeyda died this Tuesday at the age of 78, after spending a few days in the hospital, after presenting different health problems after being infected by Covid-19.
The mother of the former technical director of Chivas, Silvia Calcagno confirmed the news, after, through her Facebook account, she wrote a message announcing the departure of her husband, while she was admitted to the hospital with him.
“While I am in the hospital bed recovering from COVID, here close to me my husband Óscar Almeyda died; a whole life together and today I can’t fire him as I would like, but God arranges things. What to say, I’m devastated. I would like to be with my whole family, but I can’t, Oscar you will always be in my heart I loved you and I will love you until the day we meet again the love of my life, “he wrote on his personal profile.
After the news was released, The Chivas club sent its condolences to the Argentine strategist, through a tweet on his social networks, lamenting the sensitive death of Óscar Almeyda.
“We deeply regret the sensitive death of Mr. Óscar Almeyda, father of @peladoalmeyda Fuerza, Matías. We are with you ”, the club expressed in its official account.
Óscar Almeyda was with his family in obtaining the Clausura 2017 League title where Chivas beat Tigres on the Akron Stadium field, the father of the Argentine strategist accompanied him during the celebration and the Olympic return after obtaining the title.
So far the Argentine strategist or elements of his family have issued any statement expressed after the sensitive news for the family, Almeyda.
