Chavarría will be operated on for the rupture of the ligament in his left knee

Pablo Chavarría, Argentine striker for Málaga, from the Spanish Second Soccer Division, will undergo surgery on Wednesday at the Cemtro clinic in Madrid for the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the Malaga club announced on Thursday.

Chavarría, who will be intervened by Dr. Manuel Layes, will miss the remainder of the season due to that injury suffered in the match this past Monday against Mirandés (1-0) at the Anduva stadium, corresponding to the twenty-seventh matchday of The league.

The 33-year-old Argentine, who is from Las Perdices (Córdoba province) and was trained in Belgrano, suffered the same injury as his teammate, defender Iván Calero, in the process of recovery and who was operated on in that same Madrid clinic.

Malaga is studying together with LaLiga the possibility of making a signing to replace Chavarría, although the chosen one should be a free player, without a team, and who would receive around 25,000 euros due to the salary limit imposed on the club.
