Mauricio Reggiardo leaves Castres for Aix-en-Provence

The official site of Castres stated that Argentine Mauricio Reggiardo will leave the Top 14 team to join Aix-en-Provence as coach, starting next Monday as Rugby Director.

Reggiardo started the season as the team’s head coach But as the dates went by and due to the lack of results, he was replaced by Stéphane Prosper, who was one of his assistants and the former Puma went on to occupy the same place in the coaching staff. Now he expilatesr will have its new horizon as director in the club that is active in the French ProD2.

In statements to the official Castres website, Reggiardo stated that “after the reorganization carried out at the end of the year, I had only one objective in mind: to do everything possible to get the club out of a losing streak. Since then, I think we have done a very good job with the coaches and all the personnel to raise the equipment ”.

I feel that the club is on the right track and that it is time for me to pass the helm to Pierre-Henry and switch to another project. Castres is my favorite club and I will always have a special affection for him and all his fans, ”added the Argentine.

Finally he dedicated a few words to the Castres authorities: “I thank the club and, in particular, the president Pierre-Yves Revol for understanding my position, I wish you all the best for the years to come. “

For his part the Castres president, Pierre-Yves Revol, said that “After the reorganization, giving Pierre-Henry Broncan more responsibilities in the preparation and animation of the training sessions and the arrival of David Darricarere that we decided together, Mauricio Reggiardo still had his place within Castres Olympique although his responsibilities were less onerous than before . Nevertheless, He asked me to release him from his contractual commitments to embark on a new sports project and I could not imagine not granting his request. I am grateful to the man and the coach who has always sought to improve and prioritize the best interests of the club, even in difficult situations. I know what the club owes him and he was particularly decisive in the past to prevent me from relegation to ProD2. I wish him the best in his new endeavor and I thank him for his immense contribution to the club as a player, coach and manager. “
