Andy Murray will not play the Miami Masters 1000. Due to an injury to his left groin, the 33-year-old Scotsman is out of the first Masters of the season.
Without the Big 3, Murray was the juMain draw winner with most Masters 1000 titles. Scotsman won 14 titles of this class: Cincinnati (2008, 2011), Madrid (2008, 2015), Miami (2009, 2013), Canada (2009, 2010, 2015), Shanghai (2010, 2011, 2016), Rome (2016) and Paris (2016).
It has been a complex season for Murray with the circuit, since his contagion of coronavirus and the birth of his fourth child are compounded by his injuries. The Scotsman played the Challenger of Biella (he was a finalist) and then the ATPs of Montpellier (he lost in the first round to Gerasimov) and Rotterdam (he fell in second to Rublev).
