DEL POTRO’S PREVIOUS OPERATIONS
He had his first surgery in May 2010, months after his big blow, by winning the US Open 2009, with an easy victory over the Spanish Rafael Nadal in the semifinal and against Roger Federer in the final. There he was operated on for the ulnar tendon of the carpal extensor of the right wrist.
The left wrist began to drain energy in March 2014 and in January 2015, the ligaments needed rehabilitation. In June of that same year he relapsed again.
His knee was injured from a fall in October 2018, when he faced Croatian Borna Coric at the ATP Masters 1000 in Shanghai. As a consequence, he underwent surgery for the fracture of the right patella in June 2019, repeated in the area in January of this year and in September 2020 the third was given in that knee.
