Boca Juniors needs to get back on track in the League Cup in the classic against Independiente and Miguel Ángel Russo would think of a starting eleven like that of the Superclásico, although he waits for the recovery of Edwin Cardona, the main doubt until this Thursday.
The Colombian 10 is still recovering from a strain, for which he has been low since before the tie with River. According to Diego Monroig in SportsCenter AM, Gonzalo Maroni would be the first alternative if Cardona is not in conditions, although he did not rule out the entry of Mauro Zárate, after his good performance against Defensores de Belgrano, but that would already imply a change of scheme.
But Russo would like to maintain his line of three, but with Marcos Rojo from the bench, and Carlos Zambrano, Lisandro López and Carlos Izquierdoz from the start. If it were decided by a line of four, the center-back that would come out would be López, to make room for Zárate to enter the attack.
In this way, the probable eleven on Sunday would be: Andrada, Zambrano, López, Izquierdoz, Capaldo, Medina, Campuzano, Fabra, Cardona or Maroni; Villa and Tevez.
Boca will visit Independiente at Libertadores de América at 9:00 p.m. for the seventh date of the League Cup.
