Garcia defeated Luke campbell in early 2021 by seventh round knockout to earn the interim 135-pound belt from CMB. So if you want to stay in line to contend for the championship you own Devin Haney, Garcia will need to face Fortune.
However, on multiple occasions Ryan claimed that the only rivals he was interested in were Pacquiao or Davis. But, with the two pointing the other way, the one of Mexican blood could take another course.
For its part, Fortune comes from defeating in November 2020 Antonio Lozada Torres placeholder image by knockout in the sixth episode.
In mid-2020, the one of Dominican blood agreed to fight against Jorge Linares placeholder image, but since the Venezuelan was infected with coronavirus, the fight could not be carried out. Now Linares will contend for the 135-pound belt against Devin Haney in May.
All of this forces the winner of Haney vs. Linares will face the winner of Garcia vs. Fortune, if given.
