On the seventh date of Zone 1 of the League Cup, Argentinos beat Arsenal de Sarandí 3-2 in what was one of the best matches of the day. The goals of the match were scored by Jonathan Sandoval, Gabriel Ávalos and Elías Gómez for the local team, while Alan Ruíz and Jhonatan Candia scored for the visitor.
In the first half, those led by Rondina dominated the game and Ruíz at 38 minutes was able to open the account with a tremendous shot. The partial 1-0 was the result with which they went to halftime, as Ávalos missed a penalty in the 45th minute.
In the complement, Argentinos did not take long to achieve the tie through Sandoval, but it did not last long since at 47 minutes Candia stamped 2-1 for the visiting team. Avalos himself, who had erred from twelve steps, made it 2-2 and a minute after it was achieved he was sent off for a double yellow. At 84 minutes, Gabriel Hauche also saw the red and with two players less, Argentinos achieved the agonizing 3-2 thanks to Gómez’s goal at 87.
This result allows Milito’s men to reach nine points in Zone 1. Meanwhile, Arsenal continues without raising its head and only has one unit after seven dates.
On the next date, Argentinos will visit the leader of the Group, Colón, and Arsenal will be local against River.
