Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman maintains the same position as in previous weeks and has already ruled out the incorporation of Argentine striker Sergio Kun Agüero. According to the Catalan newspapers Mundo Deportivo and Sport, the man emerged from the Independiente quarry is not to the liking of the Dutch technical director.
The Dutch coach prefers to incorporate Memphis Depay, who also ends his contract in June, before Agüero. The coach believes that the Dutchman would adapt much better to his game system and could also play in various positions while Agüero would only do so at the attacking point.
Both media maintain that the Dutchman remains firm in his position of hiring a more powerful and younger forward. They even put three footballers ahead of the Argentine national team man: Erling Haaland (20 years, Borussia Dortmund), Romelu Lukaku (27, Inter) and Memphis Depay (27, Lyon).
In addition, another of the points that Koeman considers important is the role with which he would arrive in the locker room since he believes that Depay would fit the role of substitute better than Agüero and thus would have transmitted it to the club.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Depay or Agüero is totally independent of the attempt to sign Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker who is chosen to be the head of “Barça”, while the Dutch and the Argentine would arrive to be substitutes.
For its part, the Barcelona technical secretariat intends to create a project that will inspire and convince Messi but at the same time he is experiencing a very delicate economic situation that does not grant too much room for maneuver and also ruled out the signing of Agüero.
