Leonardo Bonucci, Juventus defender, tested positive for coronavirus this Thursday in a control to which he was subjected after returning from the concentration of the Italian National Team, reports the Turin club in an official note.
“Leonardo Bonucci, returned from the concentration in Italy, this morning underwent a PCR test for COVID-19 that has given a positive result. The footballer is already isolated”, Juventus reported.
The Italian defender will miss this Saturday’s important league derby against Torino, in which Juventus is prohibited from failing after its latest negative results.
Andrea Pirlo’s team lost at home to the newly promoted Benevento (0-1) before the break and is third, ten points behind leaders Inter Milan.
He was also eliminated by Porto in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
