Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the World Boxing Council, confirmed that the agency will create a special belt baptized as mestizo for combat between Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Billy Joe Saunders next May 8, in the AT&T Stadium, house of the Dallas cowboys.

Sulaiman wants to reflect the Mexican festivities in the belt to be disputed in the Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“As you know, the CMB commemorates two great Mexican dates (Cinco de Mayo and Independence Day, in September), as the most important boxing events of each year ”, he added Mauricio. “As our top fights are disputed between those dates, our belts with a great cultural reflection will be ready.”
