The Executive Committee of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) resolved the activity to return to Phase 1, due to the increase in coronavirus infections in recent days.
The measure does not imply the suspension of football, but rather avoid the use of changing rooms, concentrations and trips by bus, among other actions that reduce risks.
This was confirmed Nicolas Russo, president of Lanús, at the exit of the Viamonte street building: “Relaxation happens in soccer and in society. We are in a very difficult moment and we all have to do our bit. From football it is to return as we were on August 10 and that everyone take precautions“.
“Soccer is not suspended. The players will come in their cars, they will bathe in their houses, they will train in groups … these are all the controls that we can do“, the leader expanded in dialogue with radio Network.
The AFA issued a press release that reads the following:
“The Argentine Football Association, through its Executive Committee, expresses its deep concern in attention to the growing number of cases of Covid 19, both in society and in the different teams of our football. In line with the guidelines of the health policy carried out by the National Government, this association urges the clubs, players and players, members of the institutions and the entire football family in general, to strictly comply with the health protocols duly approved.
The AFA, starting in the next few days, will carry out inspections to corroborate exhaustive compliance with all the measures. If they are not complied with, a report will be submitted to the Disciplinary Court in order for it to act according to its competence “.
