Phillip Adams, born in Rock Hill in July 1988, began his career with the San Francisco 49ers in the 2010 season, then went through New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets and ended his career (being a backup most of the time) in 2015 for the Atlanta Falcons. His premature retirement was due to various injuries, in 2010 he suffered a serious injury to his left ankle for which he had to undergo surgery, then in the Raiders he suffered two concussions in three games during 2012.
