Juventus vs. Genoa - Match Report - April 11, 2021

(EFE) – Juventus beat Genoa 3-1 this Sunday, with goals from the Swede Dejan Kulusevski, the Spanish Álvaro Morata and the American Weston McKennie, and reinforced their third position in Serie A, which is worth a ticket to the next UEFA champions league.

With Inter launched towards the title with a twelve-point lead over Bianconero, Andrea Pirlo’s men achieved an important victory to maintain their margin over Napoli, fourth, who beat Sampdoria (2-0).

After suffering in recent weeks to add victories, this Sunday Juve won with authority and achieved a double advantage before the break thanks to a great goal from Swede Dejan Kulusevski (4 ‘) and a goal from Morata (20’).

The Spanish striker celebrated his eighth goal of the season by picking up a ball floating in the area after a shot at the post by Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese did not manage to score this Sunday and was visibly annoyed.

Genoa closed the gap just after the resumption of the hand of Gianluca Scamacca, with a header, but Juventus sentenced the duel at 70 ‘with a counterattack conquest sealed by McKennie.

Pirlo’s men, who until last week saw their chances of staying in the Champions League positions in jeopardy, placed third, just one point behind Milan, second.

The leader Inter is twelve points away while Napoli, fourth, is three points away.
