The Tijuana fighter won the title of CMB on September 26, 2020 against Aaron Almeda. He defeated him by unanimous decision by cards of 118-110, 116-112 and 115-113.
Since last September 26, 2020, in the function led by the brothers Jermall Y Jermell charlo, Panther Nery Y Figueroa they were on their way to face off, after sharing the same card.
Brandon became the 122-pound interim champion for the AMB in April 2019. Defeated Yonfrez Parejo by knockout in the eighth round.
He subsequently made two successful defenses and was later elevated to secondary champion. With that status he faced Damien Vazquez in September 2020, whom he defeated in the seventh round.
For its part, The panther became champion bantamweight CMB. However, he was stripped of his belt at 118 pounds after failing to make weight against Shinsuke Nakayama in 2018. He continued fighting in that division until September 2020, when he rose and conquered the scepter in the super roosters for the CMB.
Just in February of this year it was confirmed that Nery I would not continue with Eddy reynoso. In 2019 he had already joined Freddie roach, but he was not in his corner or a fight with him, because his rival at that time, Emanuel Rodriguez, did not give the weight.
Reynoso’s responsibilities with fighters like Oscar Valdez, Andy Ruiz or Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez there were many, so Nery and his team chose to step aside.
As regards its future it could aim to unify against Stephen Fulton (WBO champion), who remains undefeated with 19 wins.
He could also bet in the near future or early 2022 on trying to snatch one of his scepters from the Uzbek. Murodjon Akhmadaliev, who became champion of the AMB Y FIB on January 30, 2020 when they were removed from Daniel Roman.
