The organization of the Libema Open, better known as the ‘s-Hertogenbosch tournament, had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 edition because current developments in the pandemic make it impossible to organize a full-fledged tournament.
In close consultation with the ATP and the WTA, the Dutch grass-court tournament on the June 5-13 calendar is canceled this year and will be postponed until June 2022.
Tournament Director Marcel Hunze stated: “With the measures in place in the Netherlands, it is impossible to receive spectators and guests, an essential part of the success of the tournament. Without the enthusiastic fans, the distinctive atmosphere of the Libema Open is lacking. Roland Garros’ decision to postpone a week it also has a great impact on the event. The focus is now on preparing for a big edition in 2022. “
Kiki Bertens and Daniil Medvedev were already committed to the next edition that will now take place from June 4 to 12, 2022.
Alison Riske and Adrian Mannarino are the defending champions.
