Jorge Martin I had been having a dream debut in MotoGP. The Spanish was the poleman in his second race in the highest category of motorcycling and achieved his first podium. However, things did not go well on this third date. ‘Martinator’ had a very serious accident that left him on the verge of missing the race this weekend.
While looking for the fastest lap of the weekend, Martin had a severe accident, falling into one of the fastest corners on the Portuguese circuit. The Ducati and the pilot flew into the gravel of the track. The bike was totally destroyed and Martin suffered injuries that ruled out his participation. The images of the Spanish still impress.
Martin turned the bell several times and was injured in the blow. The hospital’s medical services arrived quickly and the Spaniard was able to be treated. However, the pains he presented when being treated were great. Martin was taken by ambulance by the Portimao medical team and taken to a hospital where it was confirmed that he had a severe contusion of the head, right hand and ankle.
Alex Marquez was another of the riders who got a big scare at dawn in MotoGP. The team driver LCR Honda he suffered a mistake while he was ahead of his brother Marc. Fortunately, the native of Cervera was not seriously injured, so his participation in the Portuguese Grand Prix is not in check.
