In the third attempt, the Government of Miami was able to receive the votes necessary for Formula 1 to have a second race on North American soil. In addition to the race that is run in Austin, the Miami Grand Prix will be added. It is not yet known what will be the date indicated by the leaders to place the race, but it is expected to be at the beginning of the 2022 season.
Through a statement released this morning, and a video on social networks, Formula 1 confirmed that the Miami Grand Prix will arrive next year. The North American layout will be around the stadium Hard rock from the team of the NFL, Dolphins. The contract signed by the category and Miami lasts until 2031.
“Formula 1 is pleased to announce the Miami Grand Prix at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, for the 2022 Formula 1 world championship. The contract is for ten years. The circuit will provide high speed with straights, multiple overtaking opportunities and exciting races with the highest safety standards ”, they promised from the category.
The layout of Miami will take place through the streets that surround the Hard Rock Stadium of the Miami dolphins. In total, it will be 5.41 kilometers long and will consist of 19 curves, 3 straights and three DRS zones. Top speed is expected to be 323 kilometers per hour, making it one of the fastest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar.
