A new success. Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah were consecrated champions of the ATP 500 of Barcelona after beating Kevin Krawietz and Horia Tecau in straight sets 6-4 and 6-2 in the final. In this way, the Colombians achieved their second consecutive title in this tournament and therefore join the list of two-time champions.
From least to greatest, Colombian Power took hold on the court Rafa Nadal and displayed great tennis for just over an hour of play. Efficiency from the serve was one of the keys to the match, as well as the fact that they capitalized on three of the four break opportunities they had, while the rival duo could not generate any throughout the match.
In the network they were infallible and on the basis of a solid game they added their 18th title together, the second of this season. It should be noted that the Colombians have come to consecrate themselves in Dubai this year after beating Croatians Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic.
In the previous edition of Barcelona, in 2019, they had beaten Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares in straight sets by 6-4 and 7-6 (4). In 2020, the tournament was not played due to the pandemic and, thus, the Colombians defended the title.
The curious? Cabal got a new consecration on the day he turns 35. A gift that comes with the flavor of victory and success.
