Edgar berlanga was disappointed after failing to finish Demond Nicholson and go to the cards, where he ended up winning by unanimous decision, in the Silver Spurs Arena from Kissimmee, Florida, where many fans of Puerto Rican origin gathered.
“It’s a bit screwed up having to get to that round with all these people here,” he commented to ESPN at the end of the confrontation. “They wanted me to win again in the first round, but I really enjoyed the experience.”
The Puerto Rican knocked down Nicholson in the second, in the third and finally in the eighth round when, with 15 seconds to go, he narrowly signed the knockout.
When everything seemed to indicate that he would achieve the seventeenth triumph by way of chloroform in his career, Nicholson managed to stand up only to hear the final bell and take the fight to the cards.
Nicholson, meanwhile, suffered his first defeat since April 28, 2018 when he was knocked out by Jesse hart in the seventh round. Later he signed five wins in a row (Isaac Rodrigues, Fernando Castañeda, Jessie Nicklow, Devaun Lee Y Mike Guy) before Berlanga defeat him.
