This Friday, Cristian Garín (22nd) will finally make his presentation at the ATP 250 in Estoril. After the abandonment of Richard Gasquet (52nd) due to injury, the Chilean will play his quarter-final match against Cameron Norrie (50th).
In the first turn, he will face the British, who in his match for the round of 16, beat Spanish Pedro Martinez (100th) in three sets by 4-6, 7-6 (1) and 7-5. It will be their second match against each other, the first was won by Norrie in the Beijing ATP first round in 2019 by 7-6 and the Chilean’s retirement.
Garín comes from losing to Kei Nishikori (41st) in the first round of Barcelona and Norrie reached the quarterfinals where he was eliminated by the champion, Rafael Nadal.
From not appearing in the first Grand Slam of the year in Australia, to winning his first title of the season in Santiago de Chile, Garín will try to recover his level to reach the Masters 1000 in Madrid and Rome in the best way possible.
