Darío Sarmiento will make the jump to the English Premier League, no less than Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, as announced by Estudiantes de La Plata.
The 18-year-old footballer born in Florencio Varela will join the English team next July, in accordance with what had already been established in the agreement signed by both clubs previously.
Sarmiento will arrive at City just when Sergio Agüero, the team’s top scorer, will leave him at the end of his contract.
The youth club debuted on October 5, 2019 against Huracán, thus becoming the second youngest player to make his presentation in the first team.
In the First Division, he has played 22 games: 18 between the Super League, the Professional League Cup and the Diego Armando Maradona Cup and 4 between the Argentina Cup and the Super League Cup, totaling 856 minutes of play.
Darío came to the club to join Children’s Soccer and was also a player for the Argentina Under 16 National Team during 2019, scoring 4 goals in six games played.
