The Centennial Stadium is emerging as the stage to host the final of this edition of the Copa Libertadores de América, as revealed to ESPN AUF sources who participated in a meeting with the president of Conmebol, Alejandro Domínguez, where they discussed the issue.
Domínguez visited Uruguay a few days ago when the vaccines that the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech Ltdl donated to the aforementioned organization arrived.
The leaders received Domínguez at the Celeste Complex where they took the opportunity to discuss various issues. On the occasion, he took the opportunity to put his foot on the accelerator regarding the interest of the AUF that the Centennial be the venue for the final of the Libertadores.
According to what was revealed by sources from the Association to ESPN, the possibility of Uruguay being the headquarters of the aforementioned party was directed.
In this sense, the president of the AUF, Ignacio Alonso, expressed in the program “A Fondo” of 1010AM.
“Uruguay presented the candidacy and has the logical expectation with a city that has already hosted it on several occasions. It would be something historic. We have a city with first-line services in terms of hotels, transportation, and facilities to host an event of global relevance. We feel ready, we feel solid to compete with major cities and we are going to work with everything so that Montevideo can be chosen as the venue ”.
