The last date of the regular season of the SLAR began with a categorical victory for Olimpia Lions against Cafeteros Pro by 51 to 33. The Paraguayan team, already classified, concluded the regular phase with 22 units: five victories and five defeats. For their part, the Colombians did not win a match among the ten disputed dates and harvested four units.
The team led by Raúl Pérez defended themselves like a lion and did not allow Cafeteros Pro to play, who did not have a good first half with a lot of inaccuracies and converted nine penalties in the first 40 minutes. The Paraguayans took advantage of the mistakes. Marcos Riquelme opened the try room while Juan González, Ignacio Gandini and Enzo Ocampo followed in the footsteps of the third row. Seconds from the end, Juan Herrera gave Colombia a small dose of hope with a conquest to finish 7-32.
Despite the enormous game that Olimpia Lions showed, the breezes from the Charrúa Stadium led Cafeteros Pro to impose a portion of the complementary stage. The imperfections faded when going from the hands of the clock. The Colombians began taking over rival territory. After so much perseverance, Enzo Ocampo, Felipe Puertas and Santiago Resino realized their try opportunities and spooked the Lions.
However, the Paraguayan team woke up the animal inside them and showed who was in charge of the match. In this way, Francisco Diez, Martín Bogado and Mariano Elli dispelled the illusions that the locals had after the string of tries that were not enough and they left the contest with the last loss 51-33 to Olimpia Lions.
