Garin was not enough with Bautista in Rome

Cristian Garin (22nd) could not continue on his way and gave in second round of the Masters 1000 in Rome against Roberto Bautista Agut (11th) after getting rid of Lloyd Harris (51st) in the first instance. It was 7-6 (5) and 6-3 in two full hours of play.

The Chilean, prior to this tournament, reached the quarterfinals of the Masters 1000 in Madrid (he beat Daniil Medvedev) and managed to reach the same stage in the ATP 250 in Estoril.

In this opportunity, the Iberian was somewhat more precise and showed why he reached finals in the ATP 250 in Montpellier and Doha, and until the arrival of the semifinals of the Masters 1000 in Miami, while in the European clay season he made the round of 16 in Monte-Carlo, in Barcelona and the second round in Madrid.

Bautista will be Top 10 again if he reaches the semifinals beating Diego Schwartzman (he fell at the Rome premiere with Felix Auger-Aliassime) in the world rankings.
