(EFE) – Betis will play the Europa League next season after lifting a 2-0 against Celta de Vigo and beating them 3-2 in a sensational second half of the Verdiblancos, who knew how to suffer in the final stretch when they were left with a footballer less for the expulsion of Cristian Tello, who saw two yellow cards in one minute.
Aspas and Brais Méndez advanced to the celestial ones, but Borja Iglesias, from the penalty spot, and Fekir equalized before Víctor Ruiz, after a corner kick, culminated the comeback of the Sevillians.
Despite running out of options to fight for a European place, Celta showed the ambition of their latest performances. He submitted Betis with suffocating pressure and a lot of rhythm in attack, led by Denis Suárez, Brais Méndez and Aspas, again decisive.
The Spanish international was able to open the scoring in the 23rd minute but was prevented by Chilean Claudio Bravo with a great stretch, after a fabulous control of the Galician attacker. Celta dominated a Betis who was unable to get the ball, and shortly after found a penalty for a push from Bartra to Santi Mina: Aspas signed his fourteenth goal.
The Galician team hit their rival again at the start of the second half, with a goal from Brais Méndez after Nolito made a masterful pass of twenty meters for Aspas, who found his teammate on the edge, from where he placed the ball in the squad, unattainable for Bravo.
Manuel Pellegrini had changed his left wing -Alex Moreno and Tello replaced Miranda and Aitor-, and his team had greater prominence there, although everything could change if Aspas’s shot, a minute after Brais’s goal, did not brush away The spar.
Because from there Betis fell apart. First he got into the duel with a child penalty committed by Nolito on Emerson, transformed by Borja Iglesias (min.50); and then tied with a spectacular free-kick from Fekir, who put the ball into the squad.
Celta was touched, and Pellegrini’s men hit him again after a very close corner kick that Víctor Ruiz finished off in the small area. The game had gotten dirty, and Cristian Tello paid for the desperation of Gil Manzano, who showed him two yellow cards in one minute.
Betis had to suffer to preserve their victory, which only center-back Carlos Domínguez threatened with a header down the stretch.
