Statements by José Pellicena – Head Coach of the M20
On the possibility of a concentration after several months: «The truth is that it is an immense joy to be able to have a national concentration again, after 14 months. After such a particular year that we are living at a national and global level, getting back together with the team is a great privilege. This is excellent news for the players as their family, social, educational life and obviously their sporting life have been altered ”.
“We have high expectations of being able to meet again with the players and to be able to train in compliance with the safety and hygiene protocols established for us by the national government authorities. It is essential to preserve the health and well-being of each of the members of this delegation.
Pellicena and a special thanks: «I want to make a special mention and thank the Argentine Rugby Union and all the areas that work tirelessly so that this M20 has the possibility of doing this concentration and this tour to South Africa. The last antecedent there had been in 2019, in preparation for the Youth World Cup held in Rosario and Santa Fe ».
On the importance of competition for any youth: «It is also worth noting that there is no World Cup this year, the U20 International Series will be the only international activity that a priori the boys have this 2021. So we are with great enthusiasm, working integrally with the academies and with the entire group of coaches of the UAR so that the boys arrive in the best way to this competition ».
The Head Coach and the role of the M20: «We were looking forward to this news because these guys are the future of Argentine rugby, taking into account the purpose of this team, which is to develop players for the senior teams of the UAR.
