Only three players in the entire history of the Club achieved the captaincy in the Argentine rugby team. In 1979, during the South American Championship in Chile, Rodolfo “Peteco” Ventura was leader of the team being the first in history for Newman.
Then followed Felipe Contepomi, from 2007 to 2011. And finally, Montoya, who currently wears the Leicester Tigers jersey, is the third from the club to don the captain’s sleeve representing the Argentine national team.
