A fan ran onto the floor and jumped to touch the board at Capital One Arena as Game 4 of the Playoff series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Washington Wizards was played.
The fan was in the Wizards basket, when the capital team attacked on the other side of the floor. The referees noticed the man’s presence and stopped the game with three minutes left in the third period. The fan was quickly tackled by a security guard and removed from the court before being handcuffed by police.
Although the incident occurred near the Sixers’ bench, neither player appeared to have had contact with the invader.
Currently, the Wizards have limited fan entry and there were no people sitting near the area where the fan entered the court.
This is the latest fan misconduct incident in the past week. In Philadelphia, a fan threw popcorn at Russell Westbrook and he was kicked out of the arena, from which he was also banned. In Utah, fans who provoked Ja Morant’s family were also banned and in Boston, a man was arrested after throwing a bottle of water at Kyrie Irving.
