This Sunday, in the Italian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez had a crash in the first round of the test. The Spanish had been advancing some positions, after leaving in the middle of the platoon, until a touch with the Brad binder, pilot of KTM, left him out of the race. However, he got a big scare after being in the middle of the track: «It wasn’t the best day for me to pass«.
After the death of Jason dupasquier, the Spanish pilot showed his concern about the incident he had with Binder. A day before, the young Swiss pilot was in the middle of the track. Unlike Márquez, Dupasquier was attacked by another competitor who was coming after him. The next day he lost his life after an operation, due to a cerebral edema.
«We could say that it was a career set, but if someone is to blame it is me, because I was coming from behind. I tried to overtake Binder at Turn 2. Several riders crashed in that chicane in the same way. Fortunately I fell by myself, and if someone is to blame it is mine. I stayed in the middle of the track and it was not the best day to have that feeling, “said Márquez after the test.
Despite having ridden only two laps, Márquez assured that he is Mugello with good feelings, especially after the good rhythm shown in the timed tests. «I am left with the feeling of the warm up and the first lap of the race. It was the first lap in which for the first time I saw myself in a position to attack and not to defend. Then the race would surely have been long, “he added enthusiastically.
Finally, the pilot of Repsol Honda confirmed that he will be present at the Catalan Grand Prix, since it did not have a great wear the last Sunday. “We have taken a little step this weekend and I have understood several things. We are lucky that next week we will be racing again and I will be fresher, because I have not done the 23 laps of Mugello. Let’s see if I can continue in my progression and keep moving forward, “he said.
