The National Team is standing: Colombia beat Peru and will receive Argentina in better spirits

The Colombia National Team defeated the last Peru 0-3 for the seventh round of the Qualifiers in Lima and that way completed seven points, improved his goal difference and moved up one place in the leaderboard. On Tuesday he will face Argentina in Barranquilla.

Reinaldo Rueda did it again. He was inspired by the 0-2 he achieved in 2004 in this same stadium with a team in ashes and scored three points at the beginning of his second stage at the head of the national team.

The DT misled the most in the previous one. It shook the predictions of names, but not so much of the system due to the absences of James Rodríguez and Juan Fernando Quintero. He built an offensive midfield protected by three centrals and Stefan Medina as the only starting side.

He bet on a man of his own to replace Wilmar Barrios. He put Gustavo Cuéllar, the most technical of the recuperators in that role. The team was more orderly, less nervous, although it took him a while to accelerate to intimidate one of the coleros in the table.

Colombia controlled the game from the start without the depth to generate danger. He deciphered the rough soccer of the Peruvians through the still ball.

Cuéllar provided security as well as balance, Matheus Uribe hurt when he understood that he could accompany the forwards and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado imposed common sense to open the victory. As he does in Juventus, his centers did damage in the area.

His second shipment to that zone ended in Yerry Mina’s header at the end of the first half. The 0-1 released the team. Medina was released to assist Uribe with precision in the 0-2 start of the complement. Luis Díaz led the score to a landslide with a diagonal and crossed shot for the 0-3. A medal that certified his sacrifice to mark.

The advantage was enough for him to handle the ball despite the expulsion of Daniel Muñoz. The side played just a minute and saw the red for an excessive foul.

Rueda also filmed Miguel Borja, Rafael Borré and Yairo Moreno.

The triumph left the tricolor in sixth place, with seven points and a goal difference of minus two.

His next game will be on Tuesday June 8 against Argentina at the Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla at 6 in the afternoon. Lio Messi’s team drew 1-1 against Chile in Santiago del Estero.
