Few times was such a devastating pace seen in a season as that of Fabio Quartararo. The French rider not only achieves pole positions, but also dominates with ease in MotoGP. This Saturday, the Yamaha returned to stay with pole, this time in the Grand Prix of Catalonia. However, it will have a more than complicated start, since the Ducati they returned to the fight, after a performance slump.
Quartararo took a new pole position in the championship. The Frenchman finished Q2 with a time of 1m38s853. The Yamaha rider was caught with just two laps to set the best time. However, he will be accompanied by two strong rivals in the first row of departure: Jack Miller Y Johann zarco. The Australian rider was about to take first place, but it was not enough.
After having the first sectors as the best bike in the paddock, Miller lost a lot of time in the last part of the circuit, leaving him behind Quartararo. It was 1m38s890 for the official Ducati rider, who will be looking for his third victory of the season, after winning in Le mans and in Sherry. Also, Miller comes from being sixth in Mugello, the last weekend.
The top three was closed by another Ducati, that of Johann Zarco. The Frenchman was the best driver of an independent team, and he will look to strike tomorrow to regain ground in the championship. It was 1m39s049 for Zarco, who comes from being fourth in the Italian Grand Prix. The rest of the Ducati had mixed results, since Francesco Bagnaia was sixth and Jorge Martin 15th.
Valentino rossi Y Marc Márquez they had very different results. After a difficult Friday for Vale, this Saturday there was a resounding change. The Italian entered Q2, and will start 11th, in the fourth row. On the other hand, Márquez was left out of the second half, after finishing 13th, a row behind Rossi.
