When nine of the 10 teams already officially presented their final lists for the Copa América, Argentina published their own with a delay and on ESPN F12 they explained what the real reason is.
At first it was believed that the AFA needed more time to confirm that Franco Armani, who keeps testing positive for COVID-19, I could travel to Brazil for the tournament, but it wasn’t about that. It actually had to do with injury and Lionel Scaloni’s regret for not having called up one more footballer on his original roster.

Esteban Edul detailed in ESPN F12 how in the AFA property they studied the regulations to correct this problem.
Lucas Alario, who had left the bubble due to physical problems, was included among the 28 names that had to be presented to CONMEBOL on Thursday, June 10, but the forward is not in a position to play, so Argentina wanted to replace him with someone who I had not registered. To do this, by law, he had to show that it is a serious injury. The forward conducted studies that were presented between Thursday and Friday.
However, CONMEBOL released the names of Argentina on Thursday along with those of the other teams.
But Argentina only included Alario to later replace him and waited for the South American authorities to approve his medical studies to modify his list with Julián Álvarez, who had not been included in the preselection of 43 players and that is why they could not put him in within the established period.
This change could lead to the claim of the other teams.
