Anuel emulates Bad Bunny and acquires a professional basketball team in Puerto Rico

The Captains of Arecibo made the urban genre artist official Anuel AA and its manager, Frabian Eli, as new owners of the team, in the Puerto Rico Basketball League.

Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago, the rag’s first name, joins fellow Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny (Cangrejeros de Santurce) in acquiring a professional team on the island.

The Capitanes have a total of seven championships, four of them in the last decade. The roster is headed by veteran point guard Walter Hodge, who was recently named Most Valuable Player of the Basketball Africa League, as well as forward David Huertas, among others.

“We are going to do a lot of great things,” said the singer. The Capitanes have experience, too, in the League of the Americas.

The 2021 season of the National Superior Basketball (BSN) is scheduled to begin on July 10. It will have the participation of 12 teams, including the top and current champions Bayamón Cowboys, which is owned by St. Louis Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina.
