Lewis hamilton is the great star of the Formula 1. The British rider already has seven world titles in his record and hopes to continue increasing it. That is why the negotiations to continue his adventure in the highest category have already begun. Although details are yet to be defined, the economic aspect is the team’s main concern Mercedes.
The end of the season 2020 it was quite a novel for Hamilton. The team and the British driver could not agree on a contract that should have been signed for Christmas, and which was announced almost two weeks before the start of the Formula 1 preseason. Many say it was pure theater and there are those who they say the relationship was strained.
Nothing will be easy in this negotiation. Hamilton is a unique figure in the history of Formula 1 and Mercedes knows it. The German team and management want to do their best to keep the top champion in their box. Hamilton has plenty of offers to stay in the category and even to retire and tackle other activities, such as music or modeling.
Although the renewal is expected to be a fact (Hamilton has a contract until December), the financial aspect will have to be seen. Currently the seven-time champion charges 46 million euros per season, salary only. However, as confirmed by ‘Daily Mail’, Lewis could accept that that salary be lowered to 39 million euros.
Despite this affirmative answer, the British driver will ask the Mercedes leaders for another proposal. Hamilton’s environment wants the number 44 to collect twice as much in goal awards. The deadline for Mercedes would be June 15, so the next few days will be key for the announcement. For its part, Mercedes would already have his teammate: George Russell.
