Premiership: the eight teams qualified for the Champions Cup

With the completion of the regular phase of the Premiership (semifinals and final still remain to be played) the English teams that will participate in the next edition of the Champions Cup. In turn, the four classified to the Challenge Cup. For these editions 2021/2022 there will only be one change between the participants: Leicester will once again play the most important tournament in Europe while Gloucester will play the second contest.

After a day that had three meetings suspended due to coronavirus outbreaks, the English participations in the continental tournaments were confirmed. Without too many surprises that could be given, more for the interest of the confirmation of the semifinals, the list of those who will present in the next Champions Cup was integrated with seven of the last eight participants, the only absent in this case will be Gloucester. Qualifiers for the 2021/2022 edition: Bristol Bears, Exeter, Sharks, Harlequins, Northampton, Leicester, Bath Y Wasps.

In addition, the qualifiers for the Challenge Cup 2021/2022 were confirmed. Among these is the London irish from Agustín Creevy and Facundo Gigena, which was the only team with a chance to fight the last place in the Champions Cup. Faced with the suspension of their match, the Argentine team added two more points but it was not enough to reach Wasps, who fell 38-31 against Leicester. The other three teams that will also be part of the next Challenge Cup will be Newcastle Falcons, Worcester Y Gloucester.
