DIEGO’S PASSAGE THROUGH THE AMERICA CUP
Maradona played three editions of the CONMEBOL Copa América (1979, 1987 and 1989), in which he totaled 12 matches and 4 goals.
His most outstanding work in the oldest tournament on the continent was in 1987, when the contest was played precisely in Argentina and the “10” scored three goals in the four games he played. La Albiceleste took 4th place in that edition.
