Former coach Alfio Basile had to be hospitalized in recent days after learning he had coronavirus. The 77-year-old former coach was diagnosed with mild pneumonia and had to be admitted to a medical center in the City of Buenos Aires as a precaution.
Basile’s health condition worsened in recent days when he presented respiratory difficulties, for which he was admitted to the Suizo Argentina Clinic in the City of Buenos Aires.
The former technician of the Argentine National Team had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and had to be admitted to the aforementioned health center because he is a patient at risk due to his age, his history as a smoker and because in 2017 he suffered a cerebrovascular accident (CVA).
“Coco” Basile is the last coach with which Argentina became champion, since under his command the national team won two titles in the Copa América 1991 in Chile and 1993 in Ecuador.
