San Lorenzo, is in a period of total renewal, with the leadership changes and the arrivals of Mauro Cetto Y Paolo Montero as manager and coach respectively. The brand new leader in charge of professional football in the Cyclone spoke exclusively with FOOTBALL 360, with Gustavo Lopez, and referred to the negotiation that Boedo’s are having with Boca Juniors for the pass of Franco Di Santo and said that there are economic differences that prevent the operation from being carried out.
The former defender also stated that for now “there is no understanding between Boca and San Lorenzo for Di Santo. The negotiations are colder than last week”, but in turn left a message for the Xeneizes leaders who are in contact with the cadre of Boedo with the talks: “Boca knows how to unlock the pass,” he assured in reference to the economic difference that the Cyclone intends to achieve the sale.
On the other hand, Cetto spoke about choosing Paolo Montero as a coach and stated that “we needed someone who knows how to manage groups, who knows how to face a team that has been beaten on a daily basis, to live a difficult semester”. He also added that the Uruguayan “is very frontal when it comes to talking to the player, I think that’s what we need at the club now. Montero knows what it’s like to be in a big team.”
He also referred to the brothers Ángel Romero and Óscar Romero, of whom he pointed out that “they are our national team players, therefore they are hierarchical and we have to do everything possible to get the best performance from them.” He also remarked that “I always say that the best have to play, but they have to do it at their level and they have achieved it at times. We have to make them do it regularly.”
