The Paraguayan team continues its training sessions in Asunción on Wednesday with a view to next Monday’s match against the Argentina National Team, within Group A led by the Guarani after their victory this week against Bolivia (3-1).
The team, which rests on this day of the Copa América, returned from Brazil after that match to resume work on Tuesday at the Ypané complex, on the outskirts of Asunción.
For this Wednesday, a progression of the tasks undertaken that day is expected, consisting of regenerative exercises and some associations of passes in confined spaces, according to the statement from the Paraguayan Football Association (APF).
The group led by Argentine Eduardo Berizzo plans to train in Asunción until Sunday to fly that day to Brasilia, where on June 21 they will face Argentina at the Mané Garrincha stadium.
After the match with Bolivia, Berizzo expressed his satisfaction with the footballers who defeated the Andeans, turning a match that turned them uphill with the penalty scored at the beginning of the match by Erwin Saavedra.
The coach arranged variants with respect to the last Albirroja matches in the Qatar World Cup qualifiers, the most prominent being the incorporation of Alejandro Romero Gamarra, who scored a goal against the Bolivians and one of the highlights along with Ángel Romero, who made a doublet.
Berizzo even made possible the debut in the selection of striker Juan Enciso, 17, from Paraguayan Libertad, and defender David Martínez, 23, and in the ranks of Argentine River Plate.
Before the clash against Argentina, which drew with Chile (1-1), Lionel Messi’s team will face Uruguay this Friday, still without making their debut in this edition of the Copa América.
Paraguay leads Group A with three points, followed by Argentina and Chile with one.
