River Plate returned to training with several absences and Marcelo Gallardo defines the squad that will travel to Orlando next Friday for the preseason in which he will play a series of friendlies.
The work began at River Camp without the presence of several players. Some are contesting the Copa América (Franco Armani, Gonzalo Montiel, Julián Álvarez, Robert Rojas, David Martínez, Nicolás De La Cruz and Rafael Santos Borré, who is free on June 30), but the absence that drew attention was that of Paulo Diaz.
The defender was not on the premises with the rest of his teammates, but will be added on Thursday if the studies carried out give good results. The Chilean player suffers from myocarditis, a sequel to Covid-19, and could not do physical activity since May 15 when he was infected, but the coaching staff are optimistic that he can travel to the United States after the check-ups.
Another three absences are those of Jorge Moreira, the Paraguayan side is free on June 30, Nahuel Gallardo and Joaquín Arzura.
Several youth players will join the preseason: Tomás Lecanda, Felipe Peña Biafore, Tomás Galván and Flabián Londoño Bedoya. There are two more players who could participate in the preparation in Orlando, but it will be defined in the next few hours. and they are Daniel Lucero and Leonardo Díaz, the goalkeeper figure of the Superclásico who has yet to sign his contract as a professional.
Juan Balbi also assured in SportsCenter that the situation of Bruno Zuculini will have to be monitored, since the midfielder wants to go to Europe to seek continuity so he could get off the preseason.
