Santiago Chocobares and Juan Cruz Mallía stood out in the last days of the Top 14 in Toulouse, a team that is in the semifinals of the French tournament, where it will play against Bordeaux next weekend.
The Argentine centers, with a great presence in the last matches of the Champions Cup champion, showed their qualities in the minutes they had to play. Chocobares played four games (all as a starter) while Mallía was in five (three from the start). In his first match, Chocobares imposed their conditions with a great butt.
For his part, Mallía, who supported the try for the title in the Champions Cup, read a rake kick and dived to avoid what could have been Bayonne’s try, on the 24th date of the tournament.
In the duel against Clermont in one of the last days of the tournament, Rufino’s man was a tackling machine so much so that he earned the congratulations of his colleagues.
In the same duel, Argentine centers got together and went to the rescue of Toulouse, with a key catch within minutes of the closing of the match so that his rival cannot discount and get within reach of reversing the result.
Finally, on the final day of the Top 14 regular phase, Chocobares showed his entire repertoire with a great tackle to save Bordeaux’s try.
