Samu Kerevi, center of Wallabies, will momentarily leave the rugby of 15 to join the selected of seven of Australia, overlooking the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
He is joined by returning Super Rugby players Lewis Holland, Lachie Anderson and Tim Anstee on their last hit before the Tokyo Olympics.
The team is also bolstered by the return of Joe Pincus from injury, with Nick Malouf as team captain.
“The attitude we adopt through COVID has provided us with a highly competitive team to choose from. Players who would not have dreamed of being considered for the national team are now in the mix and represent the program at an elite level, ”Australia Sevens coach Tim Walsh said in a statement.
“The addition of Samu is a welcome achievement for the program and underpins one of the goals of the program: to retain, recruit and develop the best Australian rugby players.
