The Welsh selected sidelined Cardiff Blues second row Cory Hill, from the squad that will face the test of the vulio window against Los Pumas. Instead, fMatthew Screech was summoned.
The decision of the Wales Rugby Union is based on Hill’s intention to continue his career next season at a foreign club, as confirmed by the institution’s authorities in an official statement.
Currently, the Welsh Union has apselection policy for players who do not act in franchises in the country, which requires a minimum of 60 games in the national team. Thus, Hill, who played 32 Tests with the Red Dragons, is not eligible.
Cory Hill’s replacement will be former Dragons player Matthew Screech who was recently signed by Cardiff Blues and could be his debut in the Welsh jersey.
With 10 players affected to the British & Irish Lions squad, Wales adds a new drop for its squad in the face of a demanding window that will have, in addition to the two tests against Los Pumas, a duel against Canada.
