Approved unanimously, the Board of Directors of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) decreed the creation of the “National Tennis Day”, which will be celebrated every June 3 – a date that coincides with the birthday of Rafael Nadal from Manacor – from of 2022.
The initiative arose during the second round match at Roland Garros between the Spanish and the French Richard Gasquet, played precisely on the left-hander’s 35th birthday and won in straight sets.
