After a very tight first session of free practice, and with Marc Márquez as the fastest, the second (and last) session of the day of MotoGP started. The times that occurred in the first part did not work, as all the drivers improved their records in the last session on Friday. Miguel Oliveira he was the fastest rider on the first day in the German Grand Prix.
Again the Portuguese pilot confirmed the step forward of KTM, which is getting closer and closer to the cutting edge teams. Oliveira marked a time of 1m20s690, almost two seconds faster than the time set by Marc Márquez in the first round. Oliveira is at his best, and he has just won the Catalan Grand Prix, the last round.
For his part, Fabio Quartararo also confirmed his good moment. The MotoGP World Championship leader finished second, but three seconds behind Oliveira, who was the fastest. 1m20s910 was Quartararo’s time. The top three was closed by a guest who was not at the last parties: Maverick Viñales. The Spaniard was able to find the rhythm to be able to be up.
Rossi – Marquez
Márquez could not match the times of the first practice session, where he had the best time. However, the Spaniard does not want to despair and will try to enter Q2 in the first session this Saturday. He was 12th, almost eight tenths of Oliveira’s time, but faster than his own time in the opening session.
Valentino Rossi improved his times from the first session, but is still at the bottom of the barrel. The Italian finished second to last, more than a second behind the leading drivers. His teammate was quite competitive, and at the moment he enters Q2 in tenth place. This Saturday there must be a change for Valentino, if he wants to be competitive.
