Eduardo Vargas placeholder image continues to be a key piece in the rebirth of the Chilean Selection hand in hand with Martín Lasarte and factor in the campaign of the national cast in the America’s Cup 2021 from Brazil.
The Atlético Mineiro striker, who had scored in the tournament’s debut at 1-1 against Argentina, converted again for La Roja against Uruguay, a figure that allowed him to reach 14 entries in the continental competition.
With this record, the Chilean striker equaled the mark of the Peruvian Paolo Guerrero as the top active scorer in the Cup and was three goals behind the record held by Zizinho and Norberto Méndez.
It should also be noted that Vargas registers 40 goals and is consolidated as second historical gunner of La Roja, 6 goals from Alexis Sánchez.
