The Swiss forward Haris Seferovic celebrated his team’s victory against France on Monday, in which he scored two goals, and congratulated his teammates for a great game in which they made “history”, by qualifying for the quarterfinal for the first time.
“We all fought. We made history. We succeeded,” said the striker excited after the game.
Seferovic, substituted in extra time, was one of Switzerland’s heroes, scoring the early goal that put his team ahead on the scoreboard (0-1) and the goal that gave wings to the final comeback (3-2) .
“We are happy and we will celebrate it, but we want to be ready for the next game,” he said.
The Swiss team will meet Spain in the quarterfinals next Friday (16:00 GMT) at the Krestovski Stadium in Saint Petersburg.
